Who we are
Who we are?
We are a team of five students from Pawar Public School Dombivili. we have chosen this topic to make people aware about what is a green meal and why is a green meal significant in our lives.
A green meal refers to a healthy meal that keeps us mentally, physically and socially fit. Nowadays many busy working people forget about their health related to food by eating food that spoils their physical health and affects them mentally. to make these people aware that they can remain active and fresh to work only when they are healthy.

the first video conference was held between us and the pupils of Carmel school in the Netherlands for us to know our Dutch friends better and introduce ourselves to them . This was our first attempt to make a bridge between the 2 distant countries.
research
We have taken the data from our group members about their meals and their alternatives.
Q. How can you make your meals greener?
Ans: We can make our meals greener by reducing the foods which have more carbon emission in our diet. We can also plan our meals well and also consume fruits and vegetables more in our diet. We can reduce the consumption of junk foods.
interviewing our teachers
We interviewed Miss Nikita Poojary one of our Biology teachers about green meals and the outcome was as follows:
We know that eating junk food on a long term basis has adverse effects on our body but, if we eat junk food for just a day or two how does it affect us. What is the difference?
Ans: Eating junk food is fine when eaten for just a day or two. We try to avoid eating junk food as it contains a lot of processed food and fat contents present which takes a lot of time to digest and ultimately it starts getting deposited in the body without giving us any nutrition. Thus it is advised not to consume junk food on a everyday basis but once in a while is fine as our body will be able to digest the same.
Each event must take place at a proper time in a proper way. How and at what time must we consume green vegetables so that they give us the best advantages out of it?
Ans. There is as such no specific time for having green vegetables. It is absolutely fine to consume throughout the day as it does not have any negative effects on our body but giving a preference it is preferred to consume green vegetables during the day time as it takes a little longer to digest as it has a lot of fibres content. So it is best to avoid at night and try to consume it during the day and in the evenings.
Are there any negative/side effects of eating green?
Ans: There are no negative effects of eating green and only positive effects on our body.
What are the ways in which we could make our meals greener?
Ans: To make our meals greener, first of all we need to plan our meals well and try to consume a lot of fruits and vegetables. We should also try to consume to a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables available as per the season as it is said that they suit our body more and give us more health benefits than others.
Just like eating junk excessively causes different health issues, is it the same with eating greener meals?
Ans: No, it does not have any negative effect on our body. We can continue to have them as long as we live and in fact it can make us live longer.
Does eating green help our immune systems?
Ans: Yes, it helps us a lot because of the vitamins and minerals which are present in it. Since vitamins and minerals are called as the protective food, so including these foods in our diet will help our immune systems to improve and help our immune system to keep diseases away from our body.
Are there any points which we need to remember even while eating green?
Ans: The points to be remembered while eating green are, we should wash the vegetables well, the vegetables need to be cooked well. There are vegetables which are eaten raw so they should be washed and cleaned properly before consumption. Since the vegetables are handled by many people before coming to us, we should remember to wash and cook them properly.
Overall, what are the positive effects of eating green?
Ans: We can have a lot of health benefits of eating green. It helps in preventing constipation and also prevents any disorders in the bowel movements. It helps in proper digestion. Since it is a fibrous food, it acts as a roughage which helps in maintaining the digestive system.

Parsley pasta pesto:
Parsley pasta pesto
Materials- pasta pesto
Olive oil
Parsley
Parmesan cheese
Garlic
Lemon juice
salt
1. Procedure Rinse the parsley well and shake off as much water
as possible. Remove the leaves from the stems and place them into
the cooker . Also add the garlic (peeled), parmesan cheese,
and lemon juice. Pulse until there are no large chunks of garlic left.
2. Slowly add the olive oil through the spout on the lid as you
continue to pulse the mixture. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as
needed and pulse until smooth. Taste the pesto and add salt to your
liking. I added 1/4 teaspoon. You want the pesto to be slightly saltier
than you’d think because it will be spread out thin over the pasta.
Drain the pasta, let cool slighly (about 5 minutes) and then return it to
the pot. Add the pesto and stir to coat. If the pasta becomes dry,
clumpy, or sticky, use a small amount of the pasta water to help

EVIDENCES OF CONVERSATION WITH OUR PARTNER SCHOOL
SECOND VIDEO CONFeRENCE ( 01/02/2021 )
COLLABORATIVE STUDY
SIMILARITIES:
Both the groups have answered the same question.
Both of the groups have talked about CO2 emission and
also devised pretty good meals.
Both the groups were able to contribute towards the
meals they eat even though belonging to two different
parts of the world.
DIFFERENCES:
They interviewed 2 or more people asking them 5
questions each while we interviewed one person asking
her 8-10 questions.
The meals that we ate consisted of 2-3 dishes while the
meals that they ate were composed of 1-2 dishes

REFLEctION
We had a lot of fun while doing this project. We also learnt a lot about green meals, their effects they have on us and also a lot about carbon emission and its impact. We also learnt about a distant country and its people , about the Netherlands and their food overall this project was more than a research about food it was a chance to learn something new apart from school activities .
